February 21, 2018 – Chandler, AZ – Odysseyware®, a leading provider of customizable online courses for K-12 education, today announced the launch of two new digital learning solutions, ClassPaceTM and BASE Education.  These solutions expand flexible curriculum options for both blended learning and social emotional learning. With these additional options, Odysseyware is the first company to offer digital solutions that meet the individualized needs of the whole learner.
ClassPaceTM offers flexible, standards-aligned digital content supporting differentiated instruction in blended learning classrooms. The program enables teachers to attend to students’ varied learning styles and needs, while also facilitating students working in group settings. Using ClassPace, classroom teachers are able to quickly assign lesson-aligned digital content to each student, monitor their progress and make changes as needed. The program also offers virtual and on-site professional development to ensure ease of implementation in the classroom.

“ClassPace offers flexible and user-friendly content, providing each of my students with the learning materials best-suited to meet their needs,” said Sandra Ledbetter, sixth grade math teacher, Little Rock School District. “The program is intuitive—I was able to hit the ground running after just one training.”

ClassPace passes the test among school administrators as well. Cossatot River School District in Wickes, Arkansas has used the beta program for six months.
“Monitoring student progress in real-time allows our teachers to course correct for each student, keeping the entire class on pace to succeed,” said Mickey Ford, assistant principal. “Simple to integrate into the classroom and customizable to meet our district’s standards, we can see ClassPace is going to have a tremendous impact on student outcomes.”

BASE Education, a revolutionary online program proven to increase social emotional learning (SEL) in teens and young adults, uses highly engaging online content and research-based communication tools to help all students succeed. BASE Education offers real-time progress monitoring and a unique FirewordTM alert system, plus text deletion tracking, to give supervising adults the information they need to intervene quickly with students in need of support.  Ninety-four percent of teachers surveyed saw an overall improvement in academics as well as classroom behavior as a result of the program when used across multiple settings.

While all courses can be used for either prevention or intervention, typically students engage with five courses at the onset. Meanwhile, students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions engage with focused courses to address specific needs.  Companion course titles are also available through a separate login for parents/guardians or teachers, supporting a systemic approach for social and emotional learning.

One of the most appreciated benefits of BASE Education—for both students and adults—is the opportunity for students to express what they are thinking or feeling, and gives supervising adults the information needed to have effective follow-up conversations. The program aligns with proven models for behavior intervention, including Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) competencies, Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS), and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS).
According to BASE Education founder and former school-based therapy specialist and certified  counselor, Robin Glenn, Odysseyware is the ideal partner for opening the door to social and emotional learning.   “Our goal with BASE is to give every student the opportunity to experience relevant social and emotional learning, and to provide a tool to support systemic connection among students, families and educators.”
Both new products come on the heels of the approval of Odysseyware® curriculum and programs through rigorous review and content development processes including:

Course approvals through Quality Matters, a regimented review process relied on by multiple states

University of California "a-g" course approvals for 120 courses submitted in 2016-17 covering all core content areas in meeting college entrance requirements

Development and integration of multiple course and digital resource enhancements to provide expanded access to more activities designed to meet state standards

Integration of math and science PhET Simulations, a STEM-based set of engaging resources available through a partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder PhET project

Expanded content development and submission processes for more than 85 courses across all content areas and CTE to support online provider, course approval and alignment requirements in states like California, West Virginia and Virginia

“The Odysseyware® team identified and designed these programs to include all aspects needed to help every child excel in the classroom,” said Eric Swanson, senior vice president of Glynnlyon product development. “ClassPace and BASE Education, both research-based programs, can and will help students across the country achieve their academic and social emotional learning goals.”
