January 19, 2017 (Chandler, Arizona) – Odysseyware®, a leading provider of customizable online courses for K-12 education, today announced the planned release of the Art of Digital Teaching (AODT), its first professional development course designed to help teachers more effectively integrate technology into the classroom. AODT gives instructors the critical support they need to help students learn and advance using cutting-edge digital tools.

According to The Learning Counsel, 86% of schools are expected to spend more on digital curriculum in 2017, and teachers are increasingly required to master the integration of technology in the classroom, yet many have little to no training on how to do so effectively.

"AODT came along at the right time to fulfill a need in our district for shared vision and common language surrounding blended learning," said Manami Tezuka, Supervisor of Library Media Services for the Syracuse City School District in New York, the first to test the product in 2016. "The course was well received because it was relevant and well planned. Teachers were thrilled to be able to work at their own pace and get immediate feedback."

AODT is 100% aligned with iNACOL standards, fulfills the need for school districts seeking to offer flexible teacher professional development, and provides unique benefits to teachers who are preparing for digital integration initiatives, such as blended learning and 1:1.

"We understand that even exceptional teachers can struggle with understanding how to effectively blend offline and online instruction," said Beth TeGrotenhuis, CEO of Odysseyware. "That’s why we are truly excited to introduce the Art of Digital Teaching (AODT), a course created to foster teachers’ development on how to take advantage of digital initiatives for their own professional growth, and of course, the benefit of their students."

A complete market rollout of AODT is planned for Summer 2017.
