OWA FLORIDA K-12 STATEWIDE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM POLICY

Odysseyware Academy is a private virtual school that works closely with partner districts to provide highly qualified teachers and content for districts who wish to expand their academic offerings.

While we are a fully accredited school, and offer multiple means of assessment for grading purposes, our school/district partners issue credit and maintain statewide testing data. In order to assist our partner schools/districts with timely information on the academic performance of students in their schools, we ask that students who live in Florida participate in Florida’s k-12 statewide assessment program.

Odysseyware Academy will coordinate with school partners to ensure that they are in communication with students who are Florida residents. Those communications with students and parents (via email) will provide them sufficient information so that they know how, where, and when they can participate in statewide assessments in their local districts.

Odysseyware Academy will coordinate with school partners to ensure they have all the information needed for students to participate in the correct tests during the assessment windows throughout the school year (see 2016-2017 timeline below). All coordination efforts will be documented in partnership documents maintained by OWA.

Though Odysseyware Academy will be active in this process, it is up to the school/district partner to disseminate information about assessments to their students and to arrange testing location(s) for those students taking courses with Odysseyware Academy. This responsibility will be outlined in their partnership contract documents.
