PARENTS

In a report issued by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, they define literacy of Information and Communications Technology as, “the ability to use technology to develop 21st century content knowledge and skills, in the context of learning core subjects. Students must be able to use technology to learn content and skills — so that they know how to learn, think critically, solve problems, use information, communicate, innovate and collaborate (Results That Matter, Partnership for 21st Century Skills, 2006)”.

Today’s students are digital natives, immersed in a culture that emphasizes technology and portability of information. For most, life has always included computers and digital entertainment. Should education be any different?

To learn technology, one must use technology. Whether your child learns in a rural or urban environment, they will compete in a globalized community that relies on technology.

Online education – unlike traditional education - is not limited by a school districts funding or access to qualified teachers. It represents an opportunity to provide relevant curriculum and expanded course offerings not always available through traditional systems.
