Learning Technology
Over the weekend we mentioned a program in Colorado that is assisting teachers with learning technology, showing them new and innovative ways to implement technology into their classroom. Some schools, in Texas for example, are even creating online simulator classes for teachers to practice a real class experience before rolling high-tech instruction out in real-time before students. Today, West Virginia’s The State Journal highlights a conference that is occurring in Charleston this week teaching educators how to use online curriculum and technology tools in their classroom. As the Journal highlights:
“We want teachers to be able to take these things back to the classroom and to use them with the students because students are digital natives,” said Leah Sparks of the Center for Professional Development. “They text, they watch YouTube, they play with videos and they save pictures and upload them to Facebook.”
Again, OdysseyWare shares this common sense approach toward integrating teachers in the classroom with technology, rather than pushing them into it head-first. We so strongly believe that teachers should be confident and comfortable using their online curriculum that we have created our own support and training department. At OdysseyCare we train teachers before our curriculum is fully rolled out in the classroom, providing in depth, fully instructional sessions that are both fun and informative.
