Checking the Batch Feature

ODYSSEYWARE iQ on June 2nd, 2010 4 Comments

We support teachers. That’s why at ODYSSEYWARE, we’re always looking for ways to make your job easier. We wanted you to be able to customize your curriculum. Now you can. One of the ways that you are able to individualize a course is to allow a single student or a whole class to skip a lesson or a whole unit. The batch feature built into our online curriculum makes it much more efficient to “skip” an entire unit.

Perhaps you’ve never used this feature either because you were unaware it existed, or because it hasn’t been working properly. Follow these steps to be sure you can take advantage of this time-saving function:

First, verify that Java is installed and working on the computer. The easiest way to be sure is to visit Java’s test website. If Java is not working, download the latest version of Java from this website.

If Java is working properly, you might be experiencing compatibility issues, especially if you are using Internet Explorer 8. The following steps will help you to remedy this situation.

While you are viewing your school’s ODYSSEYWARE site, click on the Tools menu and select Compatibility View Setting. A window will appear The school-specific ODYSSEYWARE site should appear in the Add this website: field. Click the Add button, and then Close.

Once this site is added to your Compatibility View, the helpful batch feature should work properly, saving busy teachers time and frustration.

At ODYSSEYWARE, we know that you need innovative and efficient tools to teach today’s tech-smart students. The ability to customize classes, skip units that don’t make sense to particular students, and use your time wisely are essential to your productivity and your students’ achievement. Our tech support team is here to ensure smooth interaction between the computer and the user. Online or on the phone, we make every effort to ensure that ODYSSEYWARE makes sense for teachers.

    Autum,
Each school has its own secure gateway, so you will need to contact your school’s ODYSSEYWARE administrator for information about how you should login. If you continue to struggle with this issue, your school’s administrator should contact ODYSSEYWARE’s technical support at 800-821-4443 for further directions. Thank you for visiting our website!
