"One of my students loves it when her resource class comes into the lab. The class is working on remediating learning gaps, specifically the higher level math skills. She was so proud of herself when she finally learned to add fractions with unlike denominators. She told me that she knew she should have learned this skill in 4th grade, but she never did. After awhile she became “scared” of learning because of the criticism when she had a hard time with certain concepts. Since, as she so appropriately noted, the computer never belittles you, she was able to try, try again."
